Primeiro Ano: O Despertar do Caos
No início, tentei me encaixar. Frequentei as aulas, anotei os conceitos dos grandes pensadores, levantei a mão para falar. Mas algo não se encaixava.
— “Zucula, você questiona demais”, disse-me o professor de Metafísica, após eu desafiar sua interpretação de Heidegger.
— “Não é esse o ponto da Filosofia?”, respondi, genuinamente confuso.
Ele suspirou, como se eu fosse um caso perdido.
Foi quando conheci Dora, uma estudante de Letras que fumava cigarros de palha e citava Clarice Lispector como se estivesse rezando. Nossas conversas duravam até o amanhecer, e foi com ela que entendi que as respostas que buscava não estariam nas apostilas, mas na vida.
Segundo Ano: A Revolta e o Vinho Barato
Abandonei metade das disciplinas. Em vez de ir às aulas, passava dias na biblioteca, lendo Nietzsche, Dostoiévski e Cortázar em sequência, como se estivesse me preparando para uma guerra que só eu sabia que existia.
Meus pais, é claro, ficaram desesperados.
— “Horacio, você vai ser expulso!”, minha mãe gritou ao telefone.
— “Talvez seja necessário”, respondi, calmamente.
Foi nessa época que comecei a escrever. Textos confusos, cheios de raiva e beleza, que publiquei em um blog obscuro. Para minha surpresa, algumas pessoas leram. Algumas até me entenderam.
Terceiro Ano: O Abismo (e a Luz)
Reprovei em três matérias. Meu orientador me chamou para “uma conversa séria”.

— “Professor, nadar a favor é chato demais.”
Ele riu, contra sua vontade.
No final desse ano, Dora foi embora. Conseguiu uma bolsa na França e partiu sem olhar para trás. Eu fiquei. Bebi muito. Escrevi mais ainda.
Último Ano: A Despedida que Não Houve
Quando finalmente me formei (por algum milagre burocrático), não fui à colação de grau. Em vez disso, peguei um ônibus para Ouro Preto e passei três dias vagando pelas ruas de pedra, bêbado de saudade e descoberta.
Hoje, sou professor em uma escola pública. Meus alunos não sabem quem foi Heidegger, mas sabem que a vida dói e que as perguntas valem mais que as respostas. Às vezes, penso em Dora. Às vezes, rezo para que ela também se lembre de mim.
E nos fins de tarde, quando o sol se põe atrás dos prédios, ainda sinto o mesmo frio no estômago daqueles dias na universidade. A diferença é que agora eu sei: o vazio é onde tudo começa.
